If you're visiting from outside Australia
Why you might see an "outside Australia" notice — and what it means for buying tickets.
If you open a raffle page and RaffleLink thinks you're outside Australia, you'll see a friendly heads-up:
Looks like you're visiting from outside Australia
RaffleLink raffles are only open to Australian residents right now. If you're an Australian who's currently overseas, you're welcome to keep going — otherwise this raffle isn't available in your region.
What it means
It's an advisory notice, not a barrier. RaffleLink raffles are intended for Australian residents, so we flag it up front — but:
- Travelling Australians can carry on. If you're an Aussie who happens to be overseas, choose Continue anyway and buy as normal.
- If it's not for you, choose Leave and it'll take you back to the RaffleLink home page.
The notice only appears once — once you've dismissed it, you won't see it again on that device.
How we work out where you are
It's based on your internet connection's location (your country), not anything you've entered. It's not always perfect — a VPN or a travelling connection can make an Australian look overseas, which is exactly why the notice lets you continue rather than blocking you.
This is about your country, not your state
Being overseas is different from your state not being listed on a raffle. The overseas notice is a general heads-up about your country; a missing state means that particular raffle isn't licensed where you are — see If your state isn't listed.
