Verifying your email

Why you can skip it at signup — and the one moment it's actually required.

Last reviewed 26 June 2026

When you sign up, RaffleLink emails you a verification link. You don't have to click it before you can get started — you can choose I'll verify later and go straight to setting up your organisation and building a raffle.

There's just one moment where it's genuinely required, and it's the important one: taking a raffle live.

You can explore first

Verifying at signup is optional, so nothing blocks you from looking around, creating your organisation, and building a draft raffle. A reminder banner sits at the top of your dashboard until you verify — "Verify your email to publish raffles and receive important updates" — with a Resend email button if the original didn't arrive.

Verifying is required to go live

Before you can activate a raffle (or submit it for review, if your raffle needs an admin's approval first), you need a verified email. On the raffle builder, the Activate button stays disabled with a prompt — "Verify your email to take this raffle live — we've sent a link to [your email]" — and a Resend email button right there.

The reason is simple: once your raffle is live, your email is how winners and buyers reach you, and how RaffleLink sends you the things that matter. So we make sure it works before money changes hands — not as a hurdle at the door.

Verify in another tab? It clears itself

If you click the verification link in another tab, come back to the builder — the gate clears on its own, no need to refresh and lose your place.

Joining someone else's organisation

One exception runs the other way: if you're accepting an invitation to join an organisation's team, you'll be asked to verify your email before you can join. That's deliberate — accepting an invite is tied to the email it was sent to, so verifying confirms the invitation is really yours.

How to verify

Click the link in the email RaffleLink sent you (give it a minute, and check your spam folder). If you can't find it, hit Resend email — from the dashboard banner or the raffle builder. Once you've clicked the link, you're set: the banner disappears and you can take your raffle live.
